Artis Aquarium Reopens

ARTIS Amsterdam Royal Zoo

Visit ARTIS Zoo, located about 10 minutes from Amsterdam's city center. See a wide range of animals, historic buildings, and gardens throughout the park. You can also get a glimpse of two elephant calves born at the zoo. Explore the renovated Kerbertterras, home to ring-tailed lemurs, red ruffed lemurs, and Madagascar radiated tortoises. Walk through the zoo grounds, visit the botanical garden, or take a break at one of the vegetarian restaurants. Check the daily schedule for zookeeper presentations to learn more about animals such as jaguars and Asian elephants. Admission also includes access to the Planetarium, where you can learn about stars, planets, and space. During the May holiday at ARTIS Zoo, children can take part in activities focused on birds, elephants, and other animals. Visit the Hatching House to learn about new animal life, join guided activities, and attend special Planetarium presentations. Additional tours explore ARTIS's history during wartime.
