World Museum Rotterdam

The collection at the World Museum has been built up since the 19th century and reflects the cultural diversity of Rotterdam. It spans 127 different cultures, and each object within it tells a human story. Those stories touch on universal themes such as celebration, grief, spirituality, affection and conflict, and together they emphasise our shared humanity.

The museum is committed to reflecting Rotterdam's multicultural character, and it offers contemporary programs that unite global citizens. Since 2023 it has joined forces with other museums under the National Museum of World Cultures, which strengthens its mission to promote global understanding.
