The popular Pergamon Museum in Berlin is a great solution to a first-world problem; it was built because there wasn't enough room in the nearby Bode Museum for all its artistic and archaeological relics. Construction carried on through WWI and the great inflation of the 1920s. The then-completed Pergamon was also badly damaged at the end of WWII (though fortunately, its contents escaped damage). **NOTE: The Pergamon Museum will be closed until 2027. **

The Scharf-Gerstenberg Collection is located in Berlin-Charlottenburg, on the city's west side. The buildings containing the Museum Berggruen and Sammlung Scharf-Gerstenberg were actually commissioned by King Friedrich Wilhelm IV. They were completed in 1859 after taking eight years to build. The most recent expansion was in 2013.

The Trabi Museum opened in 2013 to celebrate the iconic Trabant car. The Trabant, or Trabi, was the car of East Germany, with a production line that began in 1958 and only stopped after German reunification in 1991. The museum, located in central Berlin at Checkpoint Charlie, houses rare and famous Trabi models and even a cinema.

Using the longest-standing part of the Berlin Wall as a canvas, the East Side Gallery showcases artistic talent and symbolises resistance, freedom, and German reunification. You'll find murals painted directly onto a 1,316 meter stretch of the former Berlin Wall.

The Wall Museum recounts the history of the Berlin Wall using various forms of media across 13 rooms. It can be found at the East Side Gallery, Berlin, on the riverside of the Spree. The nearest station is Berlin Warschauer Straße.

The James Simon Gallery is the main entrance building to Berlin's Museum Island. Opened in 2019, the building and exhibit space is devoted to the Berlin State Museum's early 20th century donor who contributed more than 10,000 objects to the museums. As a Jewish man, James Simon's contributions and his importance to the museums were downplayed under the policies of the Nazi regime, but he once again has the due credit owed to him with this space.
