About the Exhibition: Andy Warhol, The Textiles

Long before his worldwide fame as a pioneer of Pop Art, Warhol designed playful, experimental fabrics for fashion and interiors in the fifties. Through repetition, strong lines and playful motifs, he explored how imagery changes when it is multiplied and worn.

Visitors encounter motifs such as ice cream sundaes, toffee apples, colourful buttons, sliced lemons, pretzels and jumping clowns.
