About the Exhibition: De Leerroute
The route shows the tanning process as it was carried out at the end of the nineteenth century, through images and materials, and surprises you with curious leather and tanning items. The entrance was built over the field where pit tanning used to take place, with a museum café where you literally sit on the tanning pits.
In the Nathuis the tanning process takes centre stage, the Droogzolder focuses on the people of the tanning world, and the rope walk is devoted to finishing leather.
