About the Exhibition: De Middeleeuwen van Helmantel
Henk Helmantel is the best-known contemporary painter from Groningen, and Christianity is central to his life and work. He paints many still lifes and interiors of churches and monasteries, drawing inspiration from medieval sculptures and contemporary objects.
In the Priorkamer and the Subpriorkamer, the museum shows an ever-changing selection from the collection that the couple has built up for decades.
