About the Exhibition: Dichter bij Cuypers
The presentation shows how Cuypers, with his personality, ambition and modern entrepreneurial spirit, managed to win and carry out great commissions. He is best known as the designer of the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam Central Station and Kasteel de Haar, and for the restoration of the Ridderzaal in The Hague.
Each room has its own theme and atmosphere, with historical images, letters and quotes combined with the museum's collection. An introductory film, listening points and interactive elements add variety, and thanks to crowdfunding the ceiling of the family's former living room can be admired again.
