Een boek gesmeed in de hel — Museum Het Spinozahuis
Curatorial Note
About the Exhibition: Een boek gesmeed in de hel
Spinoza published the Theologisch-Politiek Traktaat (TTP) cautiously, in Latin and anonymously, which shows how daring the book was. The exhibition looks back at that moment in 1670.
The TTP is still relevant today, for instance in debates on freedom of debate versus freedom of expression, fake news and coronavirus measures. Visitors are invited to share their own opinion on these current topics.
