About the Exhibition: Het Nijsinghhuis
The former town hall of Eelde was bought by Jos van Groeningen and Janneke van Groeningen-Hazenberg, who restored the dilapidated house to monument standards and created the museum garden. They lived there for the rest of their lives.
They invited painters of the northern figurative movement, Matthijs Röling, Wout Muller, Pieter Pander, Clary Mastenbroek and Olga Wiese, to paint the walls and ceilings. These impressive murals are the highlight of a visit.
