About the Exhibition: "het Verstilde Landschap" Jacob Jan van Vuuren
Van der Maaten had Elburg roots, of which the town is proud, so a special working group assembled this exhibition. Art historian Geraart Westerink publishes a book with the same title as the show.
With more than 50 paintings, lithographs, etchings and drawings there is plenty to see, including paintings of cows in a landscape. Without the sound of cars, little seems to have changed.
