About the Exhibition: Ik geloof...
The route passes artworks, objects and stories long tied to faith, hope, protection and remembrance. From saints' statues and icons to prayer cards, mourning objects and liturgical garments, each piece shows how people once dealt with illness, loss, danger and the unknown.
It also asks questions that still feel familiar: what gives people something to hold on to, which rituals do we still use, and when does belief become superstition? The chasubles worn at the funeral of jonker Louis van den Bogaerde link personal history to comfort and tradition.
