About the Exhibition: Menonitas | Een wereld buiten onze tijd | Henk Bleeker
A century ago Mennonites settled in Paraguay and built their own community, where faith, solidarity, simplicity and tradition still shape daily life. Their faith is linked to the Frisian reformer Menno Simons, and his followers reached Paraguay after a long journey through Europe.
Bleeker, from Alde Leie, came to know this relatively closed community up close and portrays its daily life, landscapes and personal stories. The photos invite reflection on which traditions we keep, what connects us and what a simpler life would be like.
