With Hotel Spaander, Volendam grew into an international artists' colony. The exhibition presents the female perspective on the village, from historical paintings to contemporary art in various forms.
Remarkably, female artists were already working here early on, at a time when that was not yet a given. Visitors are invited to step inside and discover whether they recognise the female eye.
