About the Exhibition: Op reis met Charlotte Dematons
Dematons selected her most fun, beautiful and exciting watercolours, made for her books about the Netherlands, France and Scapino and for the wordless picture book De gele ballon. Her detailed drawings hide small discoveries and hidden stories, such as a blue car, a fakir on a flying carpet and a yellow balloon that keep returning.
The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the meticulous world she creates, and shows how she works from pencil sketches to rich, narrative illustrations.
