About the Exhibition: SILA – Visuele verhalen van Sacha de Boer over klimaatverandering
Photographer Sacha de Boer travelled twice to Gjoa Haven, a remote Inuit community in the Arctic, and portrays daily life there. Sila stands in Inuit mythology for everything that breathes and lives, but also for weather and climate, and it is out of balance.
The exhibition shows the resilience of a community that has lived with nature for generations and keeps adapting. An accompanying audio tour lets visitors hear how the Inuit deal with climate change, offering a surprising perspective in a museum centred on life with water.
