Weesper Porselein, door handen uit andere landen. — Museum Weesp
Curatorial Note
About the Exhibition: Weesper Porselein, door handen uit andere landen.
In the 18th century, porcelain symbolised a world of secret recipes, travelling artists, exotic birds, mysterious chinoiserie and overwhelming rococo. It was the ultimate showpiece, affordable only to the very rich.
Visitors discover how a small factory in Weesp could produce such extravagant ornaments, and admire Weesp porcelain as a peak of technical and artistic skill.
