A striking number of objects in the Paleis Het Loo collection are white. The exhibition explores the layers of meaning of white, which is not the same for everyone and arises from the context and from the person looking at it.
Themes range from beauty and superiority to wealth and colonialism, craftsmanship and environmental burden, and status, ritual and distinction. Each object has several stories, and the objects stay the same while what we recognise in them changes.
