About the Exhibition: Daar komen de schutters!

The hall Met Man en Macht shows 4 large militia paintings, recently joined by 5 costumed figures inspired by them. The defenders of the town were organised in civic guards and shooting companies, and in Goes wealthy citizens met in 3 guilds to practise with weapons.

Visitors see how these guards were brought to life through costumes and learn that after 1572 the guilds kept only a social function.
