About the Exhibition: De ouder wordende mens
Dutch painter and draughtsman Sam Drukker has portrayed people all his life, almost always nude, without context or frills. With broad, expressive strokes he creates intense portraits in which beauty and decay are allies rather than opposites.
The exhibition shows a selection of his finest works on ageing people. Drukker captures a single moment of vitality with as few means as possible, and finds beauty in imperfection.
