About the Exhibition: De pracht van bloemen
Flowers hold a special place in the work of Jan Heesters, who found much inspiration in his own garden and often painted it. His contemporary Dorus van Oorschot was also fond of flowers as a subject.
Flower paintings from the museum's own collection meet work by contemporary artists, creating a dialogue between twentieth-century painting and modern interpretations. The splendour of flowers appears in paint, ceramics, glass, photography and paper.
