About the Exhibition: Helmantel in Amerika | Van koeien naar kunst
The exhibition brings together more than twenty paintings by Helmantel, made between 1976 and 2023. Visitors can experience his respect for creation, the fall of light in the glass he paints and the stillness of old churches.
The Ritsema family emigrated to the United States to build a thriving farm, yet their roots lie in the same Groningen clay as those of the painter. When they gave up part of the business, time opened up for art, and this fine collection is the result.
