Het bronsdepot van Eibergen

The complete hoard was found with a metal detector and handed to the museum in a shopping bag, where archaeologist Norbert Eeltink unwrapped it piece by piece. It contains two socketed axes, two large spiral bracelets, three C-shaped wrist bracelets, glass beads, clothing accessories, rings and the bronze top and bottom of a wooden staff.

It is a national top find, with at most four or five comparable discoveries in the Netherlands. Given how it was buried and its location in an area of burial mounds, it was probably an offering, pointing to a person or family of high status and to Eibergen as a place of importance.
