About the Exhibition: Het Land van Maas en Waal: Leven tussen twee rivieren
It shows how the region changed profoundly over more than a hundred years, and which elements shaped the Land van Maas en Waal. This history remains visible in the landscape and villages. It is built around three themes: from poverty to prosperity, from isolation to accessibility, and the role of Catholicism.
Curator Roland Gieles and many volunteers researched and redesigned the display, dismantling the period rooms. The exhibition completes the museum's shift from collecting to storytelling.
