About the Exhibition: Het Staatshotel
An interactive wall confronts visitors with current issues, such as whether TBS patients may go on probationary leave and whether footage of an assault may be broadcast to improve the chance of catching the offenders. Visitors also meet five offenders and follow their stories from crime through detention and beyond.
The exhibition asks who these people are, how they ended up in prison and whether they manage to stay out of trouble. The cost side is covered too: what does detention bring to society, and what does it cost?
