Trots in Textiel

Curatorial Note

About the Exhibition: Trots in Textiel

Flags and banners are rich in symbolism and speak of identity, pride and belonging. Colours, figures and motifs all play an important part in giving them meaning.

The exhibition guides visitors through this symbolism. These objects played a major role in the rich club life of the mining region, and what was once self-evident within associations and communities is not always immediately clear today.
