Kerkrade is a town and municipality in the southeast of Limburg, the southernmost province of the Netherlands, and forms part of the Parkstad Limburg agglomeration.

About Kerkrade

The eastern end of Kerkrade marks the international border, because in 1815 the Congress of Vienna divided the town into the Dutch Kerkrade and the Prussian (German) Herzogenrath. Nearly 47,000 people live in Kerkrade.
