About the Exhibition: Woman, Life, Freedom – Iraans vrouwenverzet
The exhibition centres on the strength and resilience of women and other Iranians who resist oppression and inequality despite great risks. It shows the stories behind the wave of protest that erupted in Iran in late 2022, sparked by the killing of 22-year-old Kurdish-Iranian Jina Mahsa Amini by the morality police.
Through personal stories, news footage and art, the creativity and courage of the movement emerge in many forms of resistance. The exhibition was designed by the Verzetsmuseum Amsterdam with an advisory group of Iranian women in the Netherlands, partly anonymous for safety reasons.
