Stevensweert

Stevensweert is a village in the Dutch province of Limburg, in the municipality of Maasgouw, on the right bank of the river Meuse.

About Stevensweert

It is situated on an island in the Meuse together with Ohé en Laak. The Spanish built a fortress there in 1633 during the Eighty Years War, which is still apparent in the street plan of the town.

The Catholic St Stephanus is a cruciform church built in 1781, and the grist mill Hompesche Molen was built in 1722. On Cultoura you can visit Maaseiland Museum.
