About the Exhibition: Brabant Modern – in het spoor van Sluijters en andere vernieuwers
The exhibition asks whether there was a radical break with tradition or a steady development by artists who experimented and searched for their own modern visual language. The works come largely from the private collection of collector Jan Geerts.
Visitors see work by artists including Jan Kruijsen, Hendrik Wiegersma, Frans Slager, Henriëtte Pessers, Antoon Kruysen, Kees Bol and Kees Bastiaans. Special attention goes to Jan Sluijters, one of the first to bring modernism to Brabant.
