Deep Rooted. The Impact of Graffiti on Art

The show starts from Museum Helmond's collection, one of the first in Europe to collect work by graffiti artists. Paintings by pioneers from the New York scene show how graffiti moved onto canvas, with letters, colour, style and composition as the starting point.

It then focuses on contemporary artists with roots in graffiti who developed in other directions, from photography and performance to interventions in public space, activism and research into technique. Artists include Blade, Futura 2000, Quik, Rammellzee and Dondi White.
