Urban Matterz — Museum Helmond
Curatorial Note
About the Exhibition: Urban Matterz
The show presents work by Helmond makers from the hip-hop community who volunteered at the festival. It follows how hip-hop travelled from New York to Helmond and inspired local creators, from graffiti writers and rappers to DJs, beatboxers, BMX riders and breakers.
Visitors can follow how the different elements of hip-hop emerged, influenced each other and took root. They experience how a subculture grew into a lasting, visible part of the city.
