Koetsen en kastelen

The exhibition shows how each of these people of standing, and their families, had a unique relationship with a changing Netherlands. Horse power gradually gives way to the combustion engine, traditional ideas about the roles of men and women are questioned, and metalworkers, railway workers and peat workers form the first trade unions.

Highlights include the restored carriage from the Twickel estate, the Gala Berline from Museum Van Loon and the Grand Duc/Victoria from Kasteel De Haar. For the first time the museum also offers a sign language tour next to an audio tour.
