About the Exhibition: DARN too

Endlessly mended needlework carries memories, from nostalgia to experiences that help people make sense of life. The show presents the Scar Cloth by designer Rianne de Witte, embroidered by museum visitors with their own, sometimes painful memories, along with anonymous stories.

Graphic designer Reinier de Waal honours his grandfather and great-grandfather with a Walcheren farmer's jacket, and artist Loek Grootjans turns his parents' blankets into a three-piece suit. You also see Steffi Haeck's comfort objects, darned samplers and the history of the psychiatric hospital Vrederust.
