About the Exhibition: Kees Verwey – een leven lang schilder
Verwey kept everything, from childhood drawings to his last works, which makes it possible to trace his growth as an artist closely. He is often seen as traditional, yet he constantly ventured into renewal, inspired by artists such as Picasso, Matisse and Bonnard.
Visitors see how he wavered between tradition and innovation while looking remained his driving force. The show invites you to discover the versatile oeuvre of one of the most important Dutch painters of the twentieth century.
