Nieuw Oud! De kunst van het oud worden — Museum van de Geest | Haarlem
Curatorial Note
About the Exhibition: Nieuw Oud! De kunst van het oud worden
Made with guest curator Tineke Abma, the exhibition shifts the focus from frailty to vitality, creativity and social involvement, and gives room to the longing for connection and meaning. It presents old age as a unique phase of life.
Visitors see art photographs of older people who keep creating and experimenting, and of people who dare to show vulnerability, including a striking portrait of a tattooed man. These stories hang alongside iconic photographs by Erwin Olaf and fashion images with strong older models.
