About the Exhibition: Mathieu Kessels en zijn navolgers
In 1887, two penniless Saxon craftsmen asked Mathieu Kessels in Tilburg whether they could repair their instruments. This grew into the Royal Dutch Musical Instrument Factory M.J.H. Kessels, a multinational that supplied wind and brass bands around the world.
Through an interactive screen, the museum shows how great Kessels's impact really was. Skilled workers from his factory later started successful businesses of their own, and the museum tells the stories of five of them.
