Sigmar Polke – Het weten van de kleuren — De Pont Museum
Curatorial Note
About the Exhibition: Sigmar Polke – Het weten van de kleuren
The exhibition presents painting as an open, experimental practice in which process matters as much as result. Polke experimented with unorthodox pigments and substances, with an almost alchemical curiosity about how materials decay or change form.
Visitors follow his development from early colour and material tests to interference paintings in which light, transparency and movement play a central role. The cultural and political meanings of pigments and minerals are also explored.
