About the Exhibition: Vivian Suter
Suter, born in Argentina, lives in the Guatemalan jungle and paints her canvases outdoors in nature. Like Helen Frankenthaler, she leaves the orientation of a work open until later, and her intuitive approach can be seen as a contemporary take on Frankenthaler's painting.
The installation consists of dozens of unstretched canvases hanging freely in the space or on the wall. Together they form a labyrinthine environment that mirrors the jungle in which she works.
