About the Exhibition: 100 jaar Lourdesgrot Valkenburg, 1926 – 2026
The exhibition explores the religious meaning and the cultural impact of this near-exact replica of the famous grotto of Massabielle. It tells how Pastor Hermans acquired the land and how a full-size replica, with forecourt, sacristy and pulpit, was built.
Visitors discover a place of reflection, silence and hope that has long drawn pilgrims and visitors, with annual blessings of the sick and commemorations of the dead.
