About the Exhibition: Het eerste museum van een nog levende kunstenaar
It is a museum where people laugh out loud, strangers start talking in front of a painting and children enjoy art as much as adults. After a successful earlier show at the Stadsmuseum, Van Dokkum fell for Harderwijk and looked with the Stadsmuseum for a place to show his work permanently.
He chose one of the town's finest buildings, the former Snijkamer of the University of Harderwijk, where professors once dissected bodies during anatomical lessons. After a thorough renovation this historic location became a museum devoted to his work.
