About the Exhibition: Nieuw licht – Meesterwerken van De Ploeg
Drawn from the museum's own collection, the show offers a fresh perspective on the famous association founded in Groningen in 1918. It highlights the versatility and experimental spirit of artists such as Jan Altink, Johan Dijkstra and Jan Wiegers between 1918 and 1930.
You see expressionist paintings, graphic work, applied art and collaborations with writers, musicians and architects. By focusing on how the work came about and its context, you experience the original drive for renewal, the shock of the new.
