About the Exhibition: Duurzaamheid met vlijt
In the time of the Van Gijns, furniture passed from generation to generation and a new upholstery or coat of paint kept it going for years. Gowns out of fashion were altered, and in the kitchen people saved fuel, with the hay box as an old way of slow cooking, and leftovers were never thrown away.
Visitors explore the museum house for tips and tricks to take home and be inspired to save. Throughout the year the theme comes with activities for different audiences, from lectures and workshops to guided tours.
